Lightbeam is a Christian organisation that aims to support children with additional needs and empower parents/carers in their role. Our mission is to empower and support families with children with additional needs. We aim to equip individuals with, Knowledge and Community and a Space to allow children to engage in activities that promote their development and wellbeing. My name is Ropa, I have two children who have cognitive disabilities. I created Lightbeam after experiencing firsthand how difficult it is to find a specialist childcare for my children. I have nearly 10 years experience of caring for two children withadditional needs and 6 years experience of working on a professional capacity in Social care. I have experience working as a carer/ support worker aswell as working as a Social Worker for vulnerable Adults and children.
