I have worked in a school working with SEN, SEMH and challenging behaviour children. This ranged from age 4-10. I would work 1:1 with them in class, to manage their behaviour and help them academically. I also ran interventions; in social, academic, or emotional aspects. I also learnt how to speak basic Makaton. I have babysat children for 6 years, with dyslexia and slow processing. I have tutored them and helped them with their homework. As well, I take them out for days, do activities with them in the evening, such as baking or games. I have recently started babysitting for a girl who has autism (PAD type). I volunteered in an orphanage in Ghana, working with those with social and emotional issues, as well as physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy. I volunteered with children in Birmingham to provide respite care for them over the summer holidays. They were all referred to us from social services, thus, all living a difficult homelife. To add to their lives, many also had ADHD, as well as other mental and learning difficulties. I would provide them with unconditional support and love and try to make sure they were having the best fun possible.
