Hi, I'm Livi I'm 22, and currently studying at the university of Marjon, Plymouth. I would describe myself to be an energetic, trustworthy and reliable carer. I have always pursued a career in childcare and aim to be in special needs education. I have worked in a secondary school for the past three years working with special educational needs kids, this gave me key skills e. G. Manual handling course, knowledge of specialised equipment and safeguarding children. My job role ranged from differentiation in lessons, providing pastoral care and communicating with parents. Working with disabled children has given me a range of strategies and techniques to deal with difficult and challenging behaviour despite this I find this career extremely rewarding and the benefits I feel I gain from this job are invaluable and give me such personal benefits. Working in this environment suits my patient and caring nature I found this experience extremely beneficial when I was a carer for a severely disabled boy in the summer of 2015 which involved feeding, personal hygiene care, bedtime/morning routines and transportation I felt I fitted into their family well and broadened my knowledge even further.
