I have been working in special schools as a learning support assistant since 2012. My experience has been mainly supporting children and young people who have autism but also have experience of supporting other types of special needs such as Downs Syndrome, ADHD and global developmental delay. I can use basic MAKATON and PECS to communicate with non-verbal children and young people.
