I am currently working at Lime Tree Primary School as a Temporary Assistant Teacher. My last position was Assistant Manager at a Hotel and I have come to realize that working with children with special needs is the best career for me. In this work, I can make strong contribution because I have a kind and empathetic manner and I genuinely care about the children. I am very patient when working with children. At 18, I was a Cabin Counsellor for autism youth in a summer program at Camp Northwood. Our cabin was awarded first place for a points scheme held at the end of the camp. We took care of the students from wake up to sleeping. I have the ability to relate well to children and adults. It has been very gratifying to be entrusted with the responsibility of taking care of children. I believe I relate well to children because I have an empathetic manner and am approachable. At the same time, I am able to set boundaries and provide needed structure. I sometimes find myself in the position of mediating problems between children and adults.
