I am currently a second year student at London South Bank University studying Children’s Nursing and seeking employment around my studies. I have willingness to learn and improve but also succeed. I have the drive to complete tasks to a deadline and to the best of my ability. I am a team player and have the drive and optimism to complete any tasks. I am confident and able to communicate with others easily, even those with restricted English and language skills; this skill was gained after spending a month shadowing nurses in Thailand and more so developed upon my placement within the course and my employment. I am currently working at The Children’s Trust where I care for children with brain injuries on the residential side, providing long-term care involves person centred care and building a report with each individual. The role involves personal care, feeding and gastrostomy and jejunostomy care including feeds and giving medication. I am competent in non-invasive ventilation including BI-PAP. I also have to manage seizures, write care notes and interact with families. I have also obtained a City and Guilds level 2 certificates in clinical skills while working at the trust.
