I’m a student currently in my third year of studying a BSc in Childhood Studies at the University . I worked in a primary school after school club from Sept - December 2017 where I worked with children aged 4-11 and helped organise and carry out different activities and games! I’ve had about a years experience volunteering with children and young people with special needs; in a Special School as a volunteer classroom assistant (4 months) and in a care home for children and young adults with disabilities in Cambodia (6 months). I’ve worked with children and young people with a variety of physical and mental disabilities, some with challenging behaviour and complex needs. I’m so passionate about this work and love coming up with new creative ideas and activities to do with the children. I also love being outside, music and sport (I played volleyball for 7 years and swam for 14). I also have coached both mainstream and special needs swimming which I loved. I’ve had several babysitting jobs before and am comfortable with babies and children of all ages. I’m looking for some part time childcare employment as I would love to get some more experience working with children with SEN whilst completing my degree!
