I have worked in the health and social care sector for more than 20 years and have gained vast experience dealing with people who have special needs, in the community, residential as well as in institutional settings. My view is that my clients' needs are all very individual and specific to that person. I therefore endeavour to provide a service tailored to their needs, employing the person-centred approach. I am fluent in English and keep accurate records of patient care, I am a confident lone worker but i am just as efficient, working in a team. I am confident to work with all ages. I am trained in the use of all manual handling equipment. I have spent years caring for a number of children and adults with profound and multiple disabilities I am competent in the use and maintenance of medical devices and have extensive knowledge and training in the management of tracheostomy, PEG feeds, Gastrostomy, Nasal canular, Clients on Ventilator, bowel management, Catheter management, suctioning, cough assistance, deep suctioning, wound management and medication administering. I have experience with end of life clients and can support wider professional teams and family to manage the care and comfort of loved ones nearing end of life.
