I feel that my skills and experience make me a perfect fit. I have been a young carer since the age of 11 for my Autistic sister Kloe: she is Low-Functioning. Growing up with Kloe was very difficult because she was unable to understand my body language/facial expressions when I spoke to her which often led to her physically hurting me, because of this I had to quickly adapt to a new way of approaching her. I always kept my body language open and welcoming and my facial expressions always remained calm in situations. Because of the aggression that Kloe displayed to me over the years I had to think on my feet at all times I was always 10 Steps ahead of her and carefully observing her behaviour to see what sort of mood she was in and how she was reacting every time I interacted with her. I feel because of my personal experience with my Sister when I work in this kind of environment I am prepared.
