I am 19 years old and have first hand experience with a special needs child as my 15 year old brother is diagnosed with ADHD, Autism and Epilepsy. From the age of 12 to 18 I was a registered young carer. Not only have I taken on the basic role of helping out with a younger sibling, I have been there first hand to give out medication, feed, clothe and bathe as well as spend quality time. I also have experience caring for a child of a family friend who also has ADHD, and have babysat him on several occasions over a time span of five years.
