I have experience in working with children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and nonverbal. I was part of the team at the Lothian Autistic Society in Edinburgh and I was paired 1:2, 1:1 or 2:1 with a child/young person with additional support needs during school holidays for two years. I was actively assist them to participate in the activities available, both in the school and at external ones, supporting and encouraging the child/young person in order to make him/her feel part of the group, managing and handling challenging behaviour situations, helping to develop social and communication skills and to get involved in imaginative play and enable them to enjoy new experience. This experience helped me to develop strong interpersonal skills and to manage challenging situations with children with special needs in calm, playful and professional way. I also have experience as a children entertainer. Specialising in balloon modelling, I was regularly entertain as a clown at birthday parties, festivals and Community Centre events. I have passion for the outdoors, organising treasure hunts and to make others smile.
