Whilst away from university I work for a young woman with Down Syndrome who lives independently. I assist her with household chores, errands, making appointments, administrating medication (eye-drops), accompanying her to social events etc. All of my work has the aim of helping her to develop independent life skills, social skills and responsibility. I have known this woman for most of my life so it has been very rewarding to have this job and see her develop these life skills and become more independent every day.
