I have over 10 years of experience in care supporting individuals ages ranging from 6 months to elderly adults. I have supported vulnerable adults with special needs, disabilities and challenging behaviour. This includes individuals with severe autism, learning disabilities, bipolar, schizophrenia, epileptic and others. I support adults at a day care centre and at their residents on one to one basis and as part of a team depending on the severity of their behaviour and needs. Each of my citizens have specific needs which are undertaken through teaching and learning activity based support. This includes activities such as shopping, community drives, cooking, arts/crafts assist and aid individuals independently performing everyday tasks. I am passionate and committed to my job role and like to go above and beyond as a support worker who is highly motivated, reliable enthusiastic team player and is passionate about delivering high quality of care. My initial interest in caring was a result of caring for my brother, who has severe learning difficulties and autism. By supporting and caring for him has brought out some key personal attributes in demonstrating and the ability to take on a position of responsibility.
