Hi :) My name is Anokhee. I recently moved back to London after studying Special Education in New York and working as a nanny for 5 years with children (not all with special educational needs) between the ages of 10 months and 12 years. I have a degree in Psychology and have taken classes on child development. I've worked at a special needs summer camp taking care of children in a residential setting. I’ve worked at a school for children with autism supporting students (both verbal and non-verbal) in every aspect of their daily school routines. I’ve worked as a carer for Barnet Mencap helping young people with learning challenges to develop independence whilst providing respite for their parents. Having worked as a nanny, I found that I loved the honour of becoming part of the families I worked with. For that reason, I am considering starting my own business to provide connections between student teachers and families requiring special assistance. I think it's hugely important to form bonds with the whole family unit when working in childcare and hope to find my match with a great family.
