I have worked as carer for the same family for the past 5 years. The oldest child in the family suffers from myofibrillar myopathy, an extremely rare degenerative disease, causing him severe physical disability. He is a bright young boy, but requires full care and attention with all physical activity and uses a ventilator to breathe. I was responsible for cooking, supervising homework, creating exciting evening activities, taking him on excursions, personal care, administering medication, and putting him to bed. I also have a full UK driver’s license.
