I have personally rehomed greyhounds coming from injuries that retire them from the track, to highly mistreated greyhounds which have very specific issues that you have to be flexible in your approach to when working with them. This began at very young age so I have learnt to deal with a dog that is trained to hunt small animals. With working and living with these dogs I have learnt a multitude of different skills and behaviours that ordinary dog walkers wouldn't have to face. A hyper vigilance to potential situations arising at any given moment when walking an ex racer is unrivalled and a high level of patients and calmness is required to keep both the dog I am with and the general public safe. I have found in my experience that the best way to gain trust and understanding of the dog is to walk them and give them a feeling of confidence and security along with fun.
