Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated with dogs. Having grown up with my own dog since the age of 7, my love towards dogs has grown over the years and I couldn’t imagine a home without one! I studied animal care for 1 year at college. I learnt about several types of dog breeds and their temperaments, and how to care for each dog according to their personalities. I completed work experience by walking different dogs which I found to be therapeutic experience. I have learnt how to handle multiple dogs at a time. I would often deal with challenging dogs and have learnt methods to handle certain behaviours. I built trust worthy relationships with owners. I was able to show commitment to my role despite any weather challenges. I have also taken part in dog grooming where I would assist groomers in pampering dogs. I have handled dogs of all ages and am aware that they have contrasting needs. Over the years, I have gained skills such as patience, being assertive, & paying attention to detail in order to give out the appropriate care for each individual dog. I believe I am a suitable candidate for this role due to my lengthy experience. Being able to help owners care for their dogs would be a rewarding opportunity.
