Hello! I am a nineteen year old student currently in my second year of studying Zoology at Glasgow. I grew up with my family cats and dogs, and I got my first very own pet when I was about twelve- a hamster who lived to the very ripe age of three and a half! When I got to high school my parents agreed that I could get my own dog if I put forward my savings (at the time, about £30), and I’ve had Skye- a border collie- ever since. I took great pride in teaching her as many different tricks and commands that I could think of, and we even did dog agility together for a couple of years. I also have a lot of experience caring for animals outside of my home. For two years in high school I volunteered at a small holding and dog boarding centre near my home. Here I walked the dogs (about ten at once), fed them, and did routine checks of all paws, fur and gums. More recently, I volunteered at a bird of prey sanctuary over the summer. Here I did a lot of cleaning tasks but also helped out in flying shows and learned a lot about the bird care. I’m currently at university full-time, but all my classes are still online so I am pretty much available at any time.
