I have a variety of experience with many different animal species. I previously worked in a boarding kennels and cattery and as such have experience handling, walking and grooming a wide variety of dog and cat breeds. I enjoy giving animals individual attention whilst their owners were on holiday. I have also shadowed several small animal vets and as such have basic skills in the administration of medicines to animals. In addition I am myself a loving cat owner. I have experience working in a busy riding school and livery yard where I managed the care of many different horses. This included feeding, excising, administering medication, grooming and training. I am also qualified to BHS stage 1. I have recently completed the University of Edinburgh MOOC in Animal behaviour and welfare which I am now using to ensure that all animals in my care receive impeccably high welfare.I have a keen interest in the husbandry of exotic animals and understand the more complex care requirements of some of these common species. Aside from companion animals my experience extends to lambing and assisting with dairy herds. I have enjoyed working as a reindeer herder where I was responsible for the care of a partially free ranging reindeer herd.
