I'm a 24 y/o aspiring pet photographer and passionate hobby dog trainer. I have a puppy of my own, a lovely brown standard poodle that is being trained as an assistance dog. I've worked with dog owners to make beautiful images of their furry friends, and I have experience helping train them, as well as working with assistance dogs in training. I have some grooming experience, and my own puppy has extensive grooming needs. I have experience with training cooperative care skills, to help dogs learn to willingly comply with things like brushing, nail clipping or dremeling, tooth brushing, eye cleaning, etc. My main focus with training is basic skills to promote polite behaviour - Teaching the dog to say please by sitting, 'Touch' for focus training / recall, tug toy play as a training game with 'Wait / Go' commands to develop self control in exciting situations, nosework games for mental stimulation and confidence building. I am positive reinforcement only and NEVER with the use of force or aversive devices. I follow only modern research on best dog training techniques and canine behaviour and cognition.
