I have always been a huge advocate of pets. Growing up I cannot remember a time when we didn't have dogs and/or cats around our house. 5 years ago, when we got our second dog (Sophie), I took it on me to train and take care of her. I went to dog school with her for 3 years (from basic level to agility training) and learned how to create and maintain a healthy relationship with her, so that everybody receives the best treatment they can. A year ago another dog (Florance) joined our family and it provided a great insight into raising animals with another one already part of it. I was able to repeat everything that took 3 years with Sophie under 6 months just through teaching Florance how to mimic her more experienced friend. There were, naturally, times when daily business got in the way of spending time with them so we did everything in our power to try to lessen the time they spend alone. I find it really important to be there for our pets, not just to entertain their basic needs, and so they can do what they do best as well. Provide love to us.
