I have a house cat who lives with my parents and before I came to University I would feed her, bathe her and let her outside in the garden to have some fresh air. I would also help my neighbours dog in daily walks and would occasionally feed the dog since the owner was elderly. I have no preference in looking after either dogs or cats and their age does not bother me at all. With the right training, I could also give the pets any prescribed medicine that they might require as I also did this with my own cat. I can also provide bathing services for the pets if needed. Not once in my time of looking after pets have they ever lashed out to me since I care a very calm atmosphere and I feel like I get along with animals very well. Another thing to mention is that my cat was very shy when we got her and over time I grew an understanding that she had different traits that I had not seen with other cats, this means that I am comfortable in looking after cats/dogs that are hyper or just timid. I understand that a lot of cats and dogs may not like meeting up with strangers in their homes, however, I will try my very best in providing a calm environment in the home so that the pet will feel more comfortable with me and not to feel scared.
