Through my Dad being a police dog handler I have had experience in the day to day care of large and medium breeds of working dogs, some of which were licensed dangerous dogs, giving me huge confidence in handling dogs of all types and sizes. I’ve then went on to have experience of looking after one the retired police dogs as my pet for several years; this has allowed me to learn how to care for an elderly large breed dog. Additionally, I have experience with puppies as a result of my Dad bringing home dogs he was required to train to work at six weeks old, giving me the responsibility of caring for the puppy at home when the older dogs were at work with him. Ultimately: my experience so far has given me total love and respect for dogs as workers as well as lifelong companions.
