I am just starting out professionally, I have looked after family and friends pets for weeks many times in the past and have never had any issues (touch wood). I have worked in care for the better part of 4 years, the home I worked at was closed so I decided to leave the sector, as it is more about money than actual care and that isn't something I was for. I want to do something different with my life, and as looking after dogs is what makes me happy, I want to give it a shot as a career.
