I am currently a volunteer with hospice as a Compassionate Neighbour, I have been doing that for 9 months & I love it! But would like to do more for families. I see a person for an hour or more once or twice a week, I help him with cleaning, organising his ‘life files’, but mainly there to listen to him talk about his life & also have someone visit him once or twice a week & have a cuppa with! I have two children (15 & 10) so used to mess & tidying up! During the whole of the lockdowns I helped an elderly neighbour of mine with his weekly shopping. I help my Mum regularly with making sure her house is clean, tidy, organised & take her to any appointments she may have, especially since my Father passed away four years ago. I am a very good listener, have compassion & empathy. Have a good sense of humour. I have 21 years experience working with young people, the most naughtiest ones, so I feel I can manage most situations. I am able to provide a DBS from the Hospice.
