I have been working as a Live In Carer and this position has a range of responsibilities and clients with different needs. Some of the clients require companionship, they are able to assist themselves with majority of daily tasks but may need help with medication, preparation of meals and mainly require someone to keep them company, accompany them wherever they may want to go and be a friend that they can rely on. There are also clients that need more assistance whether it’s, washing and dressing, personal care, feeding or help mobilising. I have worked with many clients that have different illnesses/diseases, they include learning disabilities, Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Addison’s, Parkinson’s, Down Syndrome, kidney failure, heart failure, and others.
