I have worked in health and social care for over 28 years. During that time I provided support to adults with physical, sensory, learning and communication difficulties. I have worked with elderly people in care homes and also in their own homes when working for the British Red Cross. I am caring and thoughtful and sensitive to the needs of others. I put dignity and respect at the heart of my caring role and seek to promote the wishes and independence of the people I work with at all times. From my many years experience in health and social care I have a good knowledge of the aids and adaptations available to make life easier for elderly and disabled people and have a good understanding of medical conditions. I am a very practical person and work in a manner that fully involves the person I am working with in everything we do together. From my long experience working in the care sector I know how important it is to work well with family members and other people involved in the individuals care and to respect the contribution and views of others.
