Prior to care work, my background was heavily placed in finance roles. All of my education and exams are accounting and credit management. Sadly, after 25 gruelling years I became tired of the sitting at a desk lifestyle. Covid hit, and I found myself gravitating towards care work. I felt so privileged to be getting out and helping, whilst everyone stayed at home. So that's simply how I ended up on this path. I worked for an agency for 2 years where I completed all the necessary training of manual handling, uses of equipment like hoists and administration of medications etc. But the lack of travel time and short half hour welfare calls didnt sit well with me - I didn't feel it was possible to provide proper care on such time restrictions. So I started working for myself and never looked back. There are a team of carers in my area where we share the work and cover holidays where we can, and it really works. I absolutely love what I do, its such a privilege to meet so many amazing people. I'm patient, kind and a very good listener. I love to cook and im incredibly house proud, so I treat my clients home as I would my own. I understand the respect for dignity and have a good ability to adapt to different situations well.
