I work part time as a registered support worker in a supported living house with learning difficulties. I have ongoing training in all aspects of care and hold a care certificate and current DBS. I also work with elderly clients with various types of dementia. I have worked with many delightful elderly people and their families in both a private capacity and as a registered health care worker with a company. I like the variety of interacting with all kinds and ages of people. I feel privileged to be able to assist people to transition through times in their lives which may be difficult to navigate or to just share stories and have a laugh together. Some of my previous jobs with my dementia clients involved taking them to swimming, companion cycling and lots of walks in local parks. Drives out for coffees, shopping, lunches, garden centres or just drives to places of interest. Some clients could not go out and we spent time listening to music and sharing stories. I love cooking and am very happy to prepare meals and to do whatever needs doing around the house. I am happy to call you for an informal chat.
