From my school years I have always focused more on the health and social classes in order to gain experience for my midwifery degree that I started in 2020. However, through my degree I have completed and received moving and handling certifications, as well as first aid training. In addition, I have spent the last 5 years aiding and supporting my own elderly grandparents. I have also spent multiple years volunteering at Leighton hospital on the elderly in-patient ward - this was to gain experience of the hospital setting once my heart was set on midwifery, however through this I have likewise gained and had an insight into the knowledge and skills required to be a kind and compassionate care giver. My two years spent undertaking my degree I have been on placements at hospitals/community hubs and have developed my own skill set, as well as communicating effectively with the public and offering the appropriate care.
