I am a compassionate and cheerful person with over ten years experience of working with people with dementia and their carers, in various capacities, both as an employee and on a self-employed basis. As well as being an experienced carer, I am a qualified person centred-counsellor - which means that I am able to offer empathic listening, as well as practical help and personal care. I am passionate about trying to improve the wellbeing of anyone struggling with the challenges that a diagnosis of dementia can bring, and who may feel scared and lonely as a result. My aim is to build relationships of trust within which people with dementia feel that they are valued and understood, and to provide them with the practical support they need without making them feel disempowered.
