I have worked in various care settings for 17+ years. 15 years ago I switched to working in the community for a care agency, which I loved doing. Over the years I have enjoyed meeting with new people and giving them 1 to 1 care. Working as a carer I have supported many clients with many different health conditions. I have supported many people to live independently in their own homes by helping with meal preparation, shopping, social support, domestic tasks, and personal care including catheter and stoma care. As well as having a qualification in NVQ 2: health and social care, I have completed courses in safeguarding, food hygiene, infection control, dementia, safe handling of medicines, basic first aid, moving and handling and pressure care.
