I feel the companionship and relationship aspect of care is greatly important to the quality of the client's life. I spent many years in the company of my great grandmother, assisting with general day to day tasks as well as spending time with her. Also, I domestically cared for another member of my family while he was terminally ill. These experiences were before I was trained or qualified in care, however, they are the sole reason I wanted to pursue care work. I feel it is vital to give back in the community and taking care of people I feel has the greatest rewards. I have had experience within a residential care home which primarily cared for residents with various stages of dementia. I have had a great deal of experience in domestic duties of care such as cleaning a home, shopping, assisting with meals and feeding and other day to day activities including full personal care duties. I have a caring and helpful nature. I feel caring and looking after people comes very naturally to me. I strive to assist people and help with their needs.
