I believe I really exist when I have a positive impact on someone else's life. I want to have a significant influence on elderly people because making a positive difference in people's lives is my passion. My desire to help people led me to volunteer for three years as a child care worker during my time in college. I also volunteered after school to help underprivileged teenagers in a rural community in Ghana. I was able to give advice and help some of the adolescents make wise selections while performing this volunteer activity. For instance, I was able to provide guidance to Olivia,a teenage girl, who desired to stop attending school because she believed that learning was not for her and that she was too old to receive a basic education certificate. She returned to school and finished her foundational coursework. These expriences have helped me develop strong empathy, organisational and collaborative skills.
