Castle Health- Helping Hands Limited has been set up by me and co founder in 2015, as we felt there was an urgent need for a company to assist with the needs of the elderly. After my BSc Biology degree was completed back in 2013 I have always known I've wanted to work with others and was preparing myself for a career in the Healthcare community. Whilst carrying out placement work at numerous hospitals in my local area South Wales I had the privilege of working on many wards where I experienced many encounters with the elderly generation. It was from here I felt very passionate about working with the elderly in particular. Many patients told me of their distress in returning home as they felt alone and unable to carry out basic tasks for themselves such as cleaning and trips to the shops etc. This is when I decided with my co founder who has over 40 years of experience in the Healthcare community that we should do something about this and help out. I understand there are a lot of care companies out there, however we felt the simple things in life such as companionship, transportation, and even keeping a tidy home are somewhat side tracked sometimes. Since then we have been helping many families and individuals keep up to date with their household chores and needs. We really enjoy making a difference to someone's day and whether it be a friendly chat and trip to the shops or making a house dazzle again we take pride in all that we do. Our friendly and reliable staff have made such positive impacts to some people who felt they had nobody to help or talk too. We understand how difficult it is to witness the deterioration of the physical & mental abilities in an ageing parent, grandparent or other loved one. This is especially true when we remember the days when we, ourselves, were the recipients of their care. At Helping Hands we hear many client family members discuss with us the transitional challenges they experience when the responsibility for their elderly parents’ mental stimulation and comfort becomes one of their integral roles. Trying to find the time to help out an elderly loved one whilst balancing a busy household, young children and a full time job can take its toll. We are often sought after from those in need of help because the task can be intensely overwhelming — both emotionally and physically.
