I have looked after the service user in their own homes providing personal care, which included getting them up, showering them, assisting with dressing and making breakfast. I also did evening calls assisting them to get ready for bed. I did companionship for care users when their family needed time away and we used to play games, watch TV, prepare light meals, washing, cleaning and any other duties that was required in the care plan. I really enjoyed working as a carer as it gave me so much satisfaction that I can care for someone and give them my full caring service. I enjoy talking to them and making them relaxed and comfortable at all times, it is such a rewarding job and gives me so much passion looking after them as I am such a caring person. I feel that one day we will get old and someone will be looking after us in the same way as we look after them.
