I have 18 months (and ongoing) of experience working with people with physical disabilities and learning disabilities. In this role I provide all levels of personal care - washing, dressing, toileting etc. I provide support with all aspects of daily living including housekeeping, administering medication, shopping, booking and accompanying clients to medical appointments and supporting with the handling of finances. I am medication trained, have basic life support and first aid training and have completed my care certificate. I am looking at beginning my Level 3 in Health and Social Care. I consider myself to be a caring, considerate, proactive and conscientious support worker/carer and pride myself on my ability to be able to build a rapport with most people I come in to contact with. I enjoy being able to support other people to live their very best life. I put a lot of importance in allowing clients to maintain any independence they have and to keep hold of their individuality.
