I cared for my grandma whilst she was very poorly. I helped her bathe, helped her eat and almost did everything for her because she was unable to do anything for herself. She died 2 years later. I loved her very much. This is why I would like to help the elderly because sometimes they cannot manage by themselves and need that extra support. I understand the emotions some elderly people go through, a feeling of despair, a feeling that they are failing themselves and those around them, thinking they are a burden. But they are not and there is nothing wrong with that extra help from others. My grandmother went through these emotions and spoke to me regularly about it. I am a very good listener also. Having experienced caring for my grandma for 2 years, I have all the necessary skills to help the elderly, in the home and personal needs. I have also worked in a nursing home. I worked there for a year but it was a while ago.
