I have worked as a private carer for 20 years, working with 2 quadriplegic gentleman. 1 had a stroke and 1 had MS. I would put these gentleman to bed of an evening with the evening routine of washing, changing clothes, giving medication and company. I also have a quadriplegic son who is 25 so I have cared for him for this time too. I am a mum to 4 children, a daughter who works in a school, a son who works in road traffic management as my husband does, and a son who is a police dispatcher. I am a Grandma to 6 grandchildren. I have been very happily married to Tony for 26 years, I own 3 German Shepherds. I enjoy reading and my home, and garden. I go away with my disabled Son to an adapted caravan a weekend a month and try to get to Florida with him once a year. I love doing 1-1 care and I give it 100% as I like to think I care for someone the way I expect someone to care for my son. I drive and have my own transport. I am unable to do day work due to my son needing me so I like to work from 8.30pm onward.
