I have been a carer for the elderly in their own homes for the past 30 years. I love my job. I'm there to help them to make a difference in their lives. I offer my support to them and help them to live as independent as possible. I have NVQ3 in care, although that doesn't really mean a thing. I treat everyone as an individual - no text book, you are humans at the end of the day who need looking after. I am good with people with dementia, once we build up a friendship and they gain your trust then they are more at ease and open up a bit. I treat everyone as I would like a member of my family to be treated. I have an up to date dbs. I am a car driver and ok with all animals. I am available for outings, long sits and sleep care (can be woken twice during the night). I charge block hours for sleeps. I am cheaper than what the big companies charge. Day rate for 12 hours 7am - 7pm is £130. Sleep care is £120.00 7pm to 7am.
