I cared for a disabled man for 1 year before becoming pregnant with my twin boys. I did this privately and not through a company. I really enjoyed the experience and formed an amazing bond with the gentleman. My main duties included personal care, meal preparation, household chores, taking him to activities/shopping and assisted with collection of money/paying bills. I have also assisted a young woman with cerebral palsy in her work place and with her studies. I hold a certificates for dignity in care, moving and handling, food hygiene and first aid within the workplace. I currently assist a lady with dementia one evening a week, helping her with personal care.
