I've been a full-time/main Carer for 3 family members and have since gained 1 year's Professional live-in Carer experience for people with Dementia, Mobility challenges, Bed bound and Palliative. A powerful advocate for older people maintaining their mobility and independence for as long as possible, I engage clients in stimulating, meaningful activities and appropriate exercise. I create the conditions for them to connect with myself and others, and to support their emotional needs and self-expression. I cook fresh nutritious meals to high standards and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the home. All aspects of personal care and skin care/infection prevention. I work as a proactive, communicative team member with clients, their families and health and social care professionals. Current enhanced DBS check and insurance. I do regular CPD courses. In my past career for The Open University I co-commissioned high profile BBC Broadcast Events for Health and Social Care including Dementia Care. I edited and produced associated learning resources, including materials for the Health and Social Care degree, working with national experts with a focus on Dementia Care and End of Life care.
