Hi, I've recently been caring for a gentleman with dementia who sadly passed away. We went out on social trips as he liked to walk and loved the sea. I cooked for him and did housework and helped him with washing and shaving etc. He had daily medication and specific care routines that the team followed. As his became more ill and bed bound the team worked closely with District nurses, his doctor and occupational health. We cared for him at home until his death and I dealt with contacting the funeral home and notifying of his death. I became lead carer on the team and dealt with all the admin, rotas, liaising with the doctors surgery etc. While I this has been the most recent experience, I have worked in care homes in the past, and helped look after my father who had dementia before he passed. I have life experience and have held management positions in my career. I'm reliable, caring, unflappable and have a great sense of humour. My gentleman who passed and I had a great rapport, we enjoyed many a laugh and good chat, which is important. Everyone deserves to be listened to. References available on request. Kind regards, Kay
