I am a Care Assistant in a residential home assisting in dementia and parkinsons care. I have worked as an HCA with the elderly, eating disorders, addiction and mental health. It is a humbling position to be in and I treat all those who trust me to care for them in a way I would only expect for myself. As we all age, we deserve to maintain our independence and dignity; this is my wish for each person I work with. I have also volunteered in a residential alzheimers unit with my Therapy Dog, Boggles. We were part of the End of Life process with clients and their families. What an absolute honour to be part of a private and emotionally loving journey. I am forever grateful to those families for sharing their journey with myself and Boggles. Lastly, I have foster history too (for furbabies). I have tube fed and reared neonate pups and kittens (cleft palates too). I pet sat for many when I was in Florida. Some of the pets were seniors and required medication administering, I am comfortable with this and, again, what an honour for people to trust me with their loved ones (human and other). I am a non smoker, non drinker with a clean driving licence.
