I looked after my elderly sick father for 10 years until he died 2 years ago. He had diabetes and being a widower I was his primary carer. In the early years it was just popping in to seem him a couple of times a week to check if he was ok. But for the last few years of his life I needed to visit him in a much more structured manner. To check if he was taking his medicine as prescribed, to clean his home, do his shopping and take him out. I know this was for my father and of course I did it out of my love for him, but I have a caring nature and would get much satisfaction from helping our older generation with their needs again.
