I have worked for many years initially as a registered nurse then as a care home manager ,specifically homes for people with dementia .I have spent many years gaining training and experience in this specialist field. I would like to improve services in my local community for older people but especially those living with dementia . I would like to enable them to stay at home being cared for and supported by a professional carer with the relevant knowledge and experience to ensure their quality of life remains as good as it can be for as long as it can be. Working with people with dementia is wonderfully rewarding but incredibly challenging ,I am not phased by some of the more unusual behaviour a person may display and understand the need to really get to know the person they were and the person they are now to offer the best possible care . My own children are now grown to independence and I am free to organise my work life as flexibly as it needs to be . I am a non smoker , fit and healthy ,I have my own transport with a full clean licence and I am comfortable with pets I am able to cook, clean and personal care .References available.
