From (2006 to 2012) I was full time carer for my Mother in Law who suffered from Cerebella Ataxia. I dealt with all aspects of her care. Since 2012 - 2016 I have assisted in the care of a couple who both suffered from different forms of dementia. Their care included all aspects of personal care, food preparation, assistance with feeding, trips out, activities and anything else that was necessary to assist them with their daily living. 2016 to date I have assisted a variety of people with a wide range of disabilities. The assistance has included all aspects of care and their requirements to enable them to stay in their own homes. I have also been a volunteer work for Darenth Valley Hospital the Red Cross Home from Hospital scheme, which gives assistance to all those that require it, mainly elderly, once they are discharged from hospital. The help given included shopping, personal care, light household duties, accompanying them on hospital appointments, companionship and assisting them in everyday activities etc. I am a compassionate person and strongly believe that people should be able to remain in their own homes for as long they wish and for as long as it is safe for them to do so.
