Respect and dignity is very much at the forefront of working in the care sector. I have experience working in the care sector, working in both a care home and also providing community care around Stevenage. In the care home I delivered care to the residents ensuring all their individual needs are met. I was required to assist with personal care, meal times, as well as contributing to deliver an active social life for all the residents.When I was working in community care, caring for vulnerable adults in their home, I was assisting the elderly, who were bed bound, had a stroke or who had other disabilities. I gave them the best personal care I could this included bathing or showering them, brushing their teeth, body washes day and night and even helping them when they wanted apply creams and makeup.I enjoy making strong personal relationship with all the service users and residents, letting their confidence grow with me. I learned how to use catheters, hoists, slide sheets and stand aids this has given me the desire to learn more. I am a visual learner and learn through hands on experiences and this is why I became a carer. Working in care has taught me the art of loving life and appreciating the beauty associated with it.
