I have worked since 1996 as some form of carer. I started off working as a Homecare Assistant for Bupa. I progressed into working as a Co Ordinator in the office and on call. Many of my clients needed personal care washing bathing dressing medication supervision, meal preparation. I also had cleaning calls along with shopping and bill payments on behalf of my clients. I have a caring compassionate nature and enjoy seeing people being able to stay in their own home. I have just spent the past 2 years looking after my elderly uncle, I was his sole carer, attending him 4 times a day 7 days a week. My role included all personal care, household duties, dealing with District Nurses, doctors , social workers. Checking health conditions medication, commoding checking skin integrity and raising any concerns. Taking my uncle out socially and making sure his mental health was ok. General day to day duties. My uncle past away in New Year and I am now looking for a similar role to help someone stay in their own home and I know how much Care Homes are .
