I currently work for a senior care company where I visit elderly people in their own home, for companionship, assistance with medication, meal preparation light housework and assistance with shopping and outdoor activities. I have experience supporting people with dementia helping them to live independently in their own home, Having company and assisting with everyday tasks, giving reassurance and above all being kind and patient and client focused really helps people live happier more independent lives. I have had this role for over a year and before that I worked with a young lady with complex care needs. I love my role working in the community in senior care and find it very rewarding. At present I work with at least six different clients, but i would prefer to work as a personal carer/assistant to just one client.
